There are many books, DVDs, videos, audio tapes and cds in our Learning Area available for you to borrow during opening hours Monday - Friday. One of our receptionists will log any borrowing you make; but you will be required to sign a Lending Agreement before you can take books or other resources home. You may not borrow more than 3 items at any one time and the lending period lasts for 2 weeks.
Late returns are charged at £7.00 per week and you will be required to pay for any damage to items at replacement cost.
There is also a large Reference Library in the Learning Area which is for reference purposes only and items cannot be borrowed; however, you may make special application to Chris Brown to borrow such items. There is a photocopying facility which is charged at 10p per sheet and there is a student computer on site for student use only; but you will need to book-in to use this computer. There is a downloading service which is charged at 10p per page.
Please ask one of our receptionists to tell you more about these services.
Students are expected to purchase some of their own course relevant books and your tutors will advise you which ones we deem most relevant – in this way, as you advance in your training, you will gradually be able to build your own personal Reference Library.
Making use of the Learning Area Resources
We have specialist equipment, such as TV, CD and DVD/Video Players and Recorders which can be made available for your use outside of class time.
The Reference area and Lending Library are open all day in order for you to access these resources and use them to your best advantage – but please respect the resources and the specialist equipment which is there for the benefit of all our students.
Use of Reference Areas must be booked with the receptionist.
